Showcase Your Research. Sharpen Your Skills. Connect Across Disciplines.

The Graduate Student Council invites Tufts graduate students to participate in the 2026 Graduate Student Research Symposium (GSRS), a dynamic annual event designed to celebrate interdisciplinary scholarship and cultivate essential communication skills.

About the Symposium

The GSRS provides graduate students with multiple platforms to present their research to diverse, cross-disciplinary audiences. Whether you prefer traditional formats or creative approaches, this symposium offers the perfect venue to share your work:

  • Traditional Talks (15 minutes): In-depth presentations for comprehensive research sharing
  • Lightning Talks (3 minutes): High-impact, rapid-fire presentations that distill your research to its essence
  • Poster Session: Visual, interactive displays are ideal for detailed discussions and networking
  • Art Exhibition: A unique space for research-inspired creative works and interdisciplinary projects

Presenters will be evaluated on clarity, presentation design, and effectiveness in communicating to a broad audience, with prizes awarded to top presentations across all categories.

Why Participate?

  • Beyond the opportunity to share your research, the GSRS offers:
  • Valuable practice in public speaking and science communication
  • Constructive feedback from judges and peers
  • Professional networking across schools and disciplines
  • Recognition for excellence in research communication
  • Free food at the event
  • Optional permanent digital archiving of your research topic through the Tisch Library Digital Collection
